Fun things with shadow boxes

The whole thing with shadow boxes is that you can mess up as many times as you want and start all over again from scratch. I wanted to do something funny, something we can laugh about when we look at it so I decided to do funny cut outs of us in different scenes.

I scanned photographs, printed them on my printer and cut the faces out. (If you don't have a scanner or access to a computer you can use a copy machine. Make sure you use a simple photograph with good contrast.) Then I picked the colors that I wanted from the cardstock stack I purchased at Michaels. It's very hard to cut at first but it gets easier as you go. In one of the boxes, I made boxes to use as 3D buildings and also used a die cutter on the awning for one of the shadow boxes. I used tacky glue to put everything together. I didn't use an x-acto knife but you can use it if you are looking for a more polished look.

Supplies:
color paper  (Cardstock Stack)
scissors
scanner or copy machine
Die Cutter for the yellow awning
Tacky glue
1 tiny feather for the vase.
