Dress #3: Organic jersey dress

Happy Thursday everyone!

I was in the city running some errands and made a stop at Moods. I thought I would be there 1 hr tops, but ended up being there the whole afternoon. Anyway, I fell in love with this organic jersey fabric. Isn't it lovely? This summer is all about stripes and the good thing is that stripes never go out of style. So I knew it wouldn't be a one time summer dress.  I also knew that striped jersey fabric would look great as a romper or a pull-on dress.

Materials:
1 1/4 - 1 1/2  yards Fabric (organic jersey)
coordinating thread
elastic 1"

Double click to zoom.

1. Cut out your pieces. 6 pieces in total.  Start by sewing the neck first. After that sew the front to the back of the top

2. Sleeves. Sew the arms to the the top piece. Should look something like the above picture.

3. Above picture is the top and bottom sewn together. The last step is to add your 1" elastic. Make a 1.5"  casing to your top of the skirt. Insert your elastic and now attach the top to the bottom. Stretch the elastic as you sew.

I really love the way it turned out! I wish I had bought more organic jersey fabric. I would have made 5 of these dresses in different colors.
