Easter Hot Air Balloon Craft by Angeli Zankel

Easter is approaching very quickly! There's still time to make it extra special. This is a fun and creative way to give as a gift to a special someone. There are 2 types of candy is this project. The hot air balloon is a M&M plastic egg that I purchase at a pharmacy store and the mini easter chocolate eggs which you can find just about anywhere.

Supplies: scissor, double sided tape, hot glue (used only on the sticks),  Felt sheets, recycled Jello plastic cups spray painted in pink, mini pom pom and ribbon.

My youngest loves Batman so I had to design for his classmates as well. Even though his teacher doesn't mind candy.  I decided to do a pencil giveaway in case any mommies would be upset at their children receiving candy.

Art for boys - Keith Haring Skateboards homage

It's been a while! Well this post is about art. Keith Haring, one of America's most loving and wild artist of the 80's. Every time I see one of Haring's work I think happy thoughts.  Therefor I decided to pay a little homage to Haring's work in my son's room. I think it looks spectacular next to his black chalkboard stripes on the wall. 

DIY Star Wars Snowtrooper costume

Hi again,

My son chose to be a snowtrooper for Halloween.  One of the hardest costume I made. I'm still not that good at sewing and now I had to learn how to work with different materials. Such as plastic, cardboard, foam board and vinyl.  I promise I will share with you all the details!

At first it seem difficult but I was up for the challenge. My husband had to stir me away from working with fiberglass!  hehe Which I was already teaching myself through videos. However I was getting a little impatient because it was going to be a long process. I'm glad he talked me out of it because at the end I think it came out pretty darn good. I didn't lose my mind during the process and best of all the kids were happy!

DIY Mini Chewbacca costume

Hello all,

Halloween is one of the busiest times of the year for me. My husband and I start planning what my boys will be dressed as for Halloween months ahead. We mention a couple of characters and the boys make their final choices. Then I sketch the patterns. My favorite part is brainstorming on what materials I'm going to use. I make quick trips to the hardware store then the fabric store. That's how I start the process.

First I start to sew the fabric pieces. Then I measure, cut and glue.

Oh this mini Chewbacca was very warm and cozy in his one piece costume but thanks to mommy who made sure to use a silky liner to keep him cool. ;-)
